TERMS AND CONDITIONS — THE BLACK ROUNDTABLE (BRT)
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and participation in all platforms, services, and events offered by The Black Roundtable NPC (“BRT”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).
By engaging with BRT—whether through our website, membership portals, social platforms, attendance at events, or any communication channel—you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must discontinue use of all BRT services.

• “BRT Services” include events, programmes, membership activities, digital platforms, publications, and communication.
• “User” or “You” refers to any person accessing or engaging with BRT.
• “Content” includes text, videos, images, logos, audio, written material, event recordings, and digital media.
• “Events” refers to any in-person or online gatherings organised by BRT.
• “Intellectual Property” refers to all trademarks, brand names, logos, original works, concepts, and digital assets owned or licensed by BRT.

2. ELIGIBILITY
By accessing BRT Services, you confirm that:
• You are 18 years or older, or authorised by a parent/guardian;
• You have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements;
• You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations;
• The information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. USER OBLIGATIONS
Users agree to:
• Use BRT platforms responsibly and lawfully;
• Not misuse, disrupt, or interfere with any BRT system or event;
• Not impersonate any individual or misrepresent affiliation with BRT;
• Not post, upload, or transmit harmful, defamatory, discriminatory, or offensive content;
• Respect the rights, privacy, and dignity of other participants.
Failure to comply may result in suspension, removal from events, or legal action.

4. EVENT PARTICIPATION
4.1 Registration and Access
• Event attendance may require advance registration and fee payment.
• BRT reserves the right to approve or decline event participation at its discretion.
• Access credentials (tickets, QR codes, emails) must not be shared.
4.2 Conduct at Events
Users must maintain professional behaviour and follow event guidelines, including:
• Dress codes (where applicable)
• Safety protocols
• Respectful interaction with speakers, guests, staff, and venue property
BRT may remove any individual whose behaviour is deemed inappropriate or disruptive.
4.3 Media and Photography
By attending BRT events, you acknowledge that:
• Photographs, videos, and audio recordings may be taken;
• BRT may use this content for promotional, archival, or media purposes;
• You may request removal of identifiable images where reasonable, subject to BRT’s discretion.
4.4 Cancellations and Refunds
• BRT reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events.
• Refunds, if applicable, will follow the stated event policy.
• Personal expenses incurred due to event changes will not be reimbursed.

5. FEES, PAYMENTS, AND BILLING
Where fees apply:
• Payments must be made via approved channels;
• Proof of payment may be required to confirm registration;
• Outstanding balances may result in denied access;
• Fees are non-refundable unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Incorrect pricing or billing errors may be corrected without prior notice.

6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
All BRT Content is protected by South African intellectual property laws.
Users may not, without written permission:
• Reproduce, distribute, or modify BRT Content;
• Use BRT trademarks, brand names, or logos;
• Commercialise any material created or shared by BRT;
• Misrepresent affiliation with The Black Roundtable or its directors.
Any intellectual property developed during collaboration with BRT remains the property of BRT unless contractually transferred.

7. USER-GENERATED CONTENT
If you submit content (feedback, proposals, messages, documents, photos, etc.):
• You grant BRT a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it for operational purposes;
• You warrant that the content does not infringe the rights of others;
• You remain responsible for legality and accuracy of your submissions.
BRT reserves the right to moderate, edit, or remove content.

BRT’s processing of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy and by POPIA.
By engaging with BRT, you consent to:

You may withdraw consent or request deletion of data where legally permissible.

Participation in BRT activities is undertaken voluntarily and at your own risk.
